The short version
Best Dam Studio (“we”, “us”) makes Best Dam Game. This website is a marketing page. It exists to tell you about the game and send you to Steam to wishlist it. We do not run ads, we do not sell data, and we do not want more of your information than we need to keep the site working.
What this website collects
When you visit this site, our hosting provider automatically receives standard technical information:
- Your IP address, browser type, and operating system.
- The pages you visit here, when you visited them, and the page that referred you.
- Basic performance data such as how long a page took to load.
This is server log and aggregate analytics data. We use it to keep the site online, understand which pages people read, and spot abuse. It is retained for a limited time and is not combined with any other data about you.
Cookies
This website does not set tracking cookies and does not use advertising pixels. If we ever add analytics that require consent under the laws that apply to you, we will ask first with a clear opt-in banner.
Third-party links
The “Wishlist on Steam” buttons take you to Steam, operated by Valve Corporation. Links in the footer go to Discord, YouTube, TikTok, X, and Bluesky. Once you leave this site, those services’ own privacy policies apply. We do not receive personal data back from them beyond aggregate referral counts.
The game itself
Best Dam Game is played through Steam. Steam handles accounts, friends lists, online matchmaking, and purchases under Valve’s privacy policy. The game may collect anonymous crash reports and gameplay statistics to fix bugs and balance the river. These reports contain no names, emails, or chat content. You will be able to turn them off in the game’s settings.
Email and community
If you email us at hello@bestdamgame.com, we keep the message so we can reply. If you join our Discord, Discord’s policy governs that space. We never add you to a mailing list without asking.
Children
This site is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region). If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal data we hold about you, or to object to how we use it. Because we hold almost nothing, most requests are quick. Email hello@bestdamgame.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the “last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced on our social channels.
